World War I Veteran
Enlisted August 12, 1917 in Coleman, Texas. Carroll was sent overseas on August 18, 1918 and returned to the states August 4, 1919 aboard the the Troop Transport Ship Virginian. He was honorably discharged August 21, 1919.

Carroll A Billings and Lucy C Hall were living in Pct 6, Coleman County, Texas, according to the 1930 US Federal Census. Children listed on the Census record for that year were: Carroll A (7), Joseph C (5) and Margaret (3).

He died as a result of injuries received in an automobile accident on April 3, 1957.
