An obituary published in the Shelbyville Democrat on November 28, 1918 for Lewis H. Anglin, stated he had died at his home in West Frankfort, just one week after the death of his wife. Influenza had went through all the family, none escaping. Mr. Anglin's mother and sister, Oma Anglin, had gone to his bedside when he became very ill, and contracted the disease themselves. The children, Catherine and John Edward were also afflicted with the disease and confined to their bed. Lewis Anglin was born in Shelbyville, October 23, 1881, and at the time of his death was 37 years and 28 days old. He was a son of the late John Anglin, and was reared in Shelbyville. In 1910 he went to West Frankfort and lived there until about a year before his death when he moved to a small farm near there. He and Lucy Kidwell, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Kidwell of near Findlay, had been married about five years. Four children were born of this union and only the two mentioned above survived the parents. Mr. Anglin was one of eleven children born to Mr. and Mrs. John Anglin, leaving three brothers and two sisters, namely: John Anglin of Peoria, Dick Anglin of West Frankfort, Roy Anglin of Johnson City, Misses Oma and Velma Anglin, who resided with their mother in Shelbyville. Mr. Anglin was a member of the Christian Church and of the Woodmen of the world.
