Funeral Services Tentatively Set For 2 p.m. Monday

Edward L. Holloway, 83, formerly of the Troy Mills community, died Friday afternoon at two o'clock in a Kirksville hospital.

The son of David and Charolotta Hunsaker Holloway he was born November 14, 1872, in Adair county. His entire life was spent in this county except eighteen months which he spent in Nebraska. In 1895 he married Katy Sitton and to this marriage two children were born.

After the death of his first wife in 1905 he married Vetta A. Elmore on June 19, 1909 and to this marriage three children were born.

Surviving are his wife; three sons, Herschel Holloway of San Fancisco, Calif., Dr. Lawrence Holloway of Swartz Creek, Michigan, Eugene Holloway of Mid-West City, Oklahoma; one daughter, Mrs. E. H. (Mary) Canfield of Omaha, Neb.; one sister, Mrs. Dicy Leavitt of 607 S. Elson. six grandchildren; four great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his first wife; six brothers; one sister; and one son, Dr. Rex Holloway who died in Battle Creek, Mich., on July 20, 1956.

Mr. Holloway was an architect and contractor who designed and built several buildings in and around Kirksville. He also maintained [illegible] the Troy Mills Community until his health failed him a few years ago.

He joined the Cater Christian Church in early manhood and has been active in church affairs since that time.

Funeral services are tentatively set for two o'clock Monday afternoon at the Foster Memorial Home, conducted by the Rev. Eldon Drennan. Interment will be in the Maple Hill Cemetery.

Bearers will be: Ray Leavitt, Verdis Leavitt, Claude Heaberlin, Alfred Herron, Joe Hollenbeck and Ferris [illegible].
