Mitzi Lindsey Beavers died at the age of 62 on September 30 in Ridgeland, MS after a long battle with cancer. She was a lifetime resident of Morton in Scott County and was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church. She was a very caring person with excellent art, sewing, and craft skills. She held her real estate license and an AA degree in Medical Information.

She is survived by her husband Baxter Lee (Buddy) Beavers of Morton; her daughter Lori Phillips (Timmy) of Morton, daughters Rebecca Beavers (David Beitel) and Renee Beavers of Denver, Colorado; her grandchildren T. J. Tullos and Maci Phillips of Morton, and Noah and Nicole Beitel of Denver; her sisters-in-law Joyce Lindsey of Morton, Betty Rushton of Flowood, Barbara Farris of Madison, Mitsy Beavers and Bonita Herring of Morton, Bonnie Owens of Byram, and Brenda Bond of Ridgeland; niece Gayla Lang (Dwane) and nephew Brad Lindsey (Wendy) of Morton and numerous cousins and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents John Ross and Geraldine Lindsey, her brother Clyde and nephew Brent of Morton.

Mitzi was a very unique and classy individual. She was a much loved wife, mother, and grandmother and had many friends and family throughout numerous states in the country. Her loving personality will stay in the hearts of the people that she touched forever.

Services will be held at Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Morton, at 2 pm Sunday, October 3. Visitation will be on Saturday, October 2 at 4-8 pm and Sunday at 12-1:45 pm.

Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
