Ava Tallant, 83, died Wednesday, Aug. 25, 2010, at the Sanctuary Hospice House in Tupelo. She enjoyed her flower garden, reading the Bible and shopping at Walmart. She retired from the North Mississippi Medical Center, and she was a waitress and seamstress. She was a member of Ozark Baptist Church.
Services were held at Ozark Baptist Church with Bro. Dempsey Rowland officiating. Burial was in Ozark Cemetery. Waters Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
She is survived by three sisters, Virginia Peters (Danny) of Saltillo, Agnes Shields (Clifton) of Tupelo and Eva Smith of Mantachie; two brothers, James Johnson and Bobby Johnson (Margaret) of the Ozark community; a number of nieces and nephews.
