Itaska Bovina Gay Wirt
Itaska Bovina Gay was born February 4, 1918 on a farm called the "Old Pump Station Place", about 8 miles East of Waurika to Samuel Bert and Sarah Obanion Phillips Gay. She was the 7th child and 4th daugter of ten children. Tack passed from this life Friday morning, October 1, 2010 at the Hospice of Wichita Falls at the age of ninety-two.She owned and operated several restarurants throughout the years where she cooked and served several patrons. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Waurika where she was very well known for her egg custard pie. Tack loved to cook and bake pies.
She married Archie Melvin Wirt on May 16, 1936 in Waurika, Oklahoma. He preceded her in death December 18,1995. She married Vernon Dean when she was eighty-two. He preceded her in death on January 17, 2008.

Tack is survived by her daughter - Neva Yeager and husband Bill of Wichita Falls, Texas, sister - Nancy Beilue of Silver City, New Mexico, six grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren, and three great great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands-- Archie Melvin Wirt and Vernon Dean, son - Douglas Archie Wirt, three sisters and five brothers.
