Jannie Thurman Wilson, 88, of Decatur, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, Sept. 30, 2010, at her daughter's home in Decatur.

She was a member of Union Grove Baptist Church, and was a very loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She loved the Lord with all her heart. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lon and Dolly Howard Thurman; her husband, Ernest "Son" Wilson; one son, Ernest Franklin "Buddy" Wilson; one daughter, Marie Wilson; three brothers, Wesley Thurman, Robert Thurman and Lige Thurman; two sisters, Irene Thurman Bates and Ossie Thurman; and one granddaughter, Sheila Cranfield.

Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Jessie J. and Julia "Judy" Wilson of Decatur; two daughters and one son-in-law, Hazel Bailey and Sue and Scott Bowman, all of Decatur; two brothers and sisters-in-law, J.W. and Joey Thurman and William and Lois Thurman, all of Athens; one sister, Betty Brogden of Decatur; nine grandchildren, Eddie King, Angelia Underwood, Keith Wilson, Shane Crisp, Kim Godsey, Mark Wilson, Steven Wilson, Tina Foster and Gina Herrell; 12 great-grandchildren, Jessie King, Daniel Goode, Nathan Goode, Brittany Goode, Dillon Crisp, Hayley Godsey, Miranda Godsey, English Cranfield, Blake Cranfield, Preston Foster, Madison Herrell and Blake Herrell; and two great-great-grandchildren, Lillie Goode and Briar Roberts.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Sunday in the chapel of Bowers Funeral Home with the Rev. Jimmy Lewis officiating. Burial will follow in Decatur Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Keith Wilson, Mark Wilson, Scott Bowman, Shane Crisp, Shane Godsey and Dillon Crisp.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
