Catherine Ellen Simons, 94, of Robinson, IL, formerly of Palestine and Flat Rock, died at 1:15 a.m. Sunday, November 16, 2003 at Crawford Memorial Hospital, Robinson. She was born April 30, 1909 in Crawford County, IL, the daughter of John W. Bradberry and Marinda A. Midgett Bradberry. She was a homemaker, a member of the South Union Church, rural Flat Rock, a member of the South Union Home Extension, and she cooked for years for the Crawford County Coon Hunters Club. Catherine married Earl Simons on September 14, 1929 and he preceded her in death on December 10, 1998. Her parents; 3 sisters, Elizabeth Rich, Flossie Brady, and Jean Bradberry; 3 brothers, Allen Bradberry, Harry Bradberry, and an infant brother, Gale LeRoy Bradberry, also preceded her in death.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, John Earl and Twila Simons, Casey; 2 granddaughters, Teresa Wilson, Casey, and Cathy Pine, Paris; 4 great grandchildren, Dustin Chapman, Jarrett Pine, Rainey Pine, and Tanner Wilson; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services are at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, November 19, 2003 at the Goodwine Funeral Home in Flat Rock. Pastor Ron Price is in charge of services. Burial is in the Tohill Cemetery, rural Flat Rock. Visitation is from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the South Union Church with envelopes available at the funeral home.
