Services for Mildred Bernice Smith, 94 of Tyler, are scheduled for 3:00 p.m. Saturday, April 7, 2018 in the Chapel of Jackson's Burks Walker Tippit Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2:00-3:00 p.m. prior to the service in the chapel. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, April 9, 2018 at Walnut Creek Baptist Church Cemetery in Austin.

Mrs. Smith passed away on Friday, April 6, 2018 in Tyler. She was born August 27, 1923 in Friendship, Arkansas to the late Barney Pearson Adams and Alma Lou Fowler Adams. She was a retired elementary school teacher with Austin I.S.D. and was a member of Hyde Park Baptist Church in Austin. She was preceded in death by her husband, Euel Smith; a brother, J.C. Adams and by all of her sisters, Mary Francis Carver, Hazel Hardage, Kathleen Batchelor, Barnie Lou May and by a great-grandson, Ezekiel Erskine Wu.

Survivors are a son, Ronald Austin Smith of Hutto; daughters, Barbara Ann Hopkins of Kempner, Peggy Jean Canant of Tyler, Mary Ruth Vernon of Dallas and Joi Elizabeth Parmley of Cedar Creek; brother, Paul Adams of Little Rock, Ark; 13 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.

Honorary pallbearers are Christopher Hopkins, John Wright, Joshua Vernon, William Smith, Robert Smith, Samuel Parmley.
