Jacquelyn Newton Bennett, 82, of Liberty, NC, went to be with her Lord on Monday, July 12, 2010.
Mr. Bennett was a native of Screven County and was a faithful servant of the First United Methodist Church, of Liberty, NC. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Bennett, Jr.
Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Wanda Bennett and Terry Stamp of Cornelius, NC, and Sinja Bennett and Gary Hill of Liberty, NC; two sons and daughters-in-law, William C. and Betty Jo Bennett of Wilmington, TN, and James Randall "Randy" and Carla Bennett of Colton, WA; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at the First United Methodist Church of Liberty, NC, Wednesday evening, July 14, 2010, at 6:30 p.m.
Graveside services will be held at the Bascom Cemetery, near Hiltonia, on Thursday, July 15, 2010, at 3:00 p.m. with Rev. Gary Hill officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made in Jacquelyn Newton Bennett's name to the following: The Palliative Children's Care Unit at Moses Cone Hospital, Office of Fund Development, Moses Cone Hospital or the American Cancer Society.
