William H. England

William H. England, 74, died Thursday, May 1, 1997, at Richard L. Roudebush Veteran Affairs Medical Center in Indianapolis. He was a resident of Indianapolis.

He was born Nov. 12, 1922 in Edmonton, Ky. His parents were William and Mary(Mercer) England. He was married to Alta E. (Harper)England. She Survives. Other survivors include four sons, James E. England of Greenwood, and William H. England, Michael L. England and Kevin D. England, all of Indianapolis; a daughter Mary Jane Hogue of Indianapolis; two brothers, James R. England of Bowling Green Ky., and Earl Jessie England of Greensburg Ky.; eight sisters, Kathleen Ballard and Vennie Arms, both of Glasgow, Ky., Lenora Arms of Anderson, Flossie J. Houchins of Indianapolis, Elizabeth Money of Jacksonville, Miss., Pauline Riser and Janie Edwards, both of Greensburg, Ky., and Pearl Tarter of Louisville, Ky.; 16 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. He also was preceded in death by a sister, Clemteen Poynter; and a son, Keith Alien England.

He was employed by McKelvey Kell as a carpet installer for 25 years, He later owned the company for 15 years.

He was a member of American Legion Post 64 and an Army veteran of World War II.

The Rev. Glen Poynter will conduct a service at 11:30 a.m. Monday at Forest, Lawn Wilson St. Pierre Funeral Home in White Rive Township. Friends may call from 5 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
