Robert M. Ahlstrom Sr.

Services for Robert M. Ahlstrom Sr., 75, of Mentor, will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Mentor United Methodist Church, 8600 Mentor Ave., Mentor.

Mr. Ahlstrom died Nov. 16, 2005, at LakeWest Hospital in Willoughby.

Born April 5, 1930, in Willoughby, he was a lifelong Lake County resident.

He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving with the 354th Military Police Company during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of Mentor United Methodist Church and American Legion Post 352 in Mentor. He enjoyed American history, genealogy and working in his home workshop.

Mr. Ahlstrom was a foreman for the former TRW Corporation for 40 years, retiring in 1987.

Survivors are his wife of 54 years, Lorraine (Robinson) Ahlstrom; daughter, Jan (Wilson) Vaughan of Lacrosse, Va.; son, Robert M. Ahlstrom Jr. of Mentor; grandchildren, Captain Michael Boos, currently serving overseas in the U.S. Air Force, Justin Vaughan of Lacrosse, Va. and Marriette Ahlstrom and Robert W. Ahlstrom, both of Mentor; and brother, Richard (Beverly) Ahlstrom of Dallas, Texas.

His parents, William and Janice (Mather) Ahlstrom; and brother, William Ahlstrom Jr., are deceased.

Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Davis Funeral Home, 4154 Clark Ave., Willoughby. The Rev. Dorothy Penny-Larter of Mentor United Methodist Church will officiate at the services. Burial will be in Mentor Cemetery in Mentor.
