Hannah Barlow, b. Freedom, ME, 18 Nov 1844; her parents were Nathan S. Barlow (1808-86)(son of the "white indian" troublemaker Nathan Barlow who died at Charlestown state prison in 1816) and Mary "Polly" Curtis (b. 1806, Hanover, Mass.; d. 1873).
Hannah married (1) after July 1872, John Garland, butcher, of Monroe, Maine; married (2) 14 Oct 1890, Rev. Humphrey Small, pastor of the Freewill Baptist church in Brooks, Maine.
Lizzie A. Garland, age 4 in the 1880 Monroe census, may be her daughter. Manter and Thaddeus Garland were her stepsons; Manter was on a small farm in Lowell, Mass., in the 1920's, and Thaddeus was in Maine (he ate peas with a knife!). (Thanks to Ellen for this bio)
In the 1880 Monroe, Maine, census: John, Hannah, Thaddeus, Manter, and Lizzie, with Eliza H. Burrill, age 69.
In the 1900 census, Hannah & Humphrey Small are listed in Rockport Town (Rockland Street or West Street, house rented). They are not listed in the 1910 census. In 1920 census, she was back in Brooks (Monroe Road), age 75, living with her brother William G. Barlow (age 81; he died 1923).
