In 1866 he married Nancy L. (1838-1919) (I have not found her last name). He registered for the draft 1 July 1863, farmer, single. It looks from the censuses as if they had no children.
In the 1860 Freedom census, he lived with his parents, his younger sisters Alvira (Elvira) and Hannah, and Warren Oliver.
In the 1870 census, William and his wife Nancy lived with his parents and sister Hannah (Alvira died in 1866), and Alma.
In the 1880 Freedom census, William and Nancy lived with his parents.
In the 1900 Freedom census, William and Nancy lived alone.
In 1910, William and Nancy were listed in the Unity census.
In the 1920 census, William (Nancy died in 1919) was living with his sister Hannah Small in Brooks, Maine.
