DEATH THIS MORNING OF MISS SARA M'LAREN - Released from Bixby hospital only 5 or 6wks ago, where she had been cared for after a fracture of her right leg just below the hip. Miss Sarah McLaren contracted pneumonia, dying at 5am this morning after a short illness at her home at 43 North Locust street. M&M Daniel Gottshall, neighbors from Butler street had cared for her in her illness, the deceased having no relatives here. The funeral arrangements await the arrival of her niece, Dr Jeannette E. McLaren of Minneapolis, who is expected here this afternoon, but burial will be made at Clinton besides the mother of Miss McLaren. Miss McLaren had been a resident of Adrian for a long time and for years worked at her trade of vest maker for A.H.Wood and then for a less time for the newer firm of Wood, Crane & Wood, finally retiring from active work owing to failing health. She had been a member of the old Congregational church and later affiliated with the First Presbyterian church. Miss McLaren was past 80yrs of age, and Scotch. She had been a remarkable woman having been successfully operated upon on two different occasions for cataracts, recovering her eye sight very nicely. Last October in a fall she had broken a leg near the hip and spent some months in the hospital in consequence, recovering to the extent that she could get about again, which was remarkable with her advanced years.
