John McLaren and 1st wife, Ann McIntyre had 4 children, one of whom, James (1808-1809), is buried with his mother in Colonial Cemetery in Johnstown, New York. Ann died in 1815, probably in childbirth with son, John McLaren Jr. John left his dau, Ann Matilda with his late wife's sister Isabella McIntyre McVean who raised her. At some point he remarried to Nancy Hallett and they moved to Lenawee County, MI. John and Nancy had one child, Sarah. Sarah did not marry.
The grave marker clearly has a death year of 1862, BUT he is not with Nancy and Sarah on either the 1850 or the 1860 census??? Both census for Adrian, Lenawee, MI have Nancy McLaren and with her is dau, Sarah McLaren. Where is John??
