Mrs. Hunter Honored at Rijnardt Circle Meeting Monday

A party honoring the 81st birthday anniversary of Mrs. Kate Hunter was the feature of the Rijnhardt Circle meeting Monday afternoon at the home of Mrs. Sidney Hall, 1004 West Tennessee.
Before the social hour a regular study program was presented. Mrs. Al Boring led the study "World Call," and Mrs. G W. Brenneman gave the devotional, "Love One Another." A talk on "Clapie Center in Retrospect," was presented by Mrs. Charles Sherwood. Mrs. Mittie Norman spoke about "Color in the Post-War World."
An original poem, "Looking for a Valentine," was recited by Mrs. Pickering as Mrs. Hunter was ushered into the dining room where many gifts were placed on the table. A white birthday cake decorated with silver hobnails and flanked on either side by tall candelabra had a corsage of red and white flowers placed in the center. The Rev. J. E. Pickering gave a birthday prayer.
A party plate was served to the honoree; her two daughters, Mrs. H. R. Miller of Cisco and Mrs. W. B. R. Miller Jr.; three guests, Mrs. Earl Chapman, Mrs. C. H. Shephard, and the Rev. Pickering.
Members present were: Mesdames Charles Sherwood, S. W. Estes, G. W. Brenneman, Ivan Hood, J. H. Frizzell Sr., J. S. Cordill, Charles Besanson, Woody Elkin, Mittie Norman, John Casselman, H. L. Bray, Al Boring, W. E. Price, M. M. Pruitt, Glenn Brunson, and the hostess.

Mrs. Hunter Funeral Services Held Friday

Funeral Services for Mrs. Kate Hunter, 86, were held at 2 p.m. Friday in the First Christian Church, with the Rev. Clyde Lindsley, pastor, officiating.
Interment will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in Rosemont Park, Wichita Falls, under direction of Ellis Funeral Home.
Mrs. Hunter died Wednesday in the home of a son, W. B. Hunter, 511 North Big Spring Street. Another son, Joe Hunter of Midland, is among survivors.
Active pallbearers were Ivan Hood, Guy Brenneman, George Bennett, Everett Shipp, W. B. Standifer and Bill Cole.
Honorary pallbearers were H. G. Bedford, Clyde Hamilton, Matt Hayes, E. H. Miles, Lester Short, J. C. Miles, S. T. Hall, Ray Upham, T. R. Wilson, Chester Shepherd, E. D. Shaw, W.A. Langedin, Austin Moore, Babe LaRue, Kenneth Slough, George Ratliff and Ralph Auld.
