Ruth H. Alm Onan, was born in Nelsonville, a daughter of Hemmie and Olive (Henjum) Alm. Besides being helpmate to her dairy farmer husband and raising 5 children, she was Agri-Fax secretary for Farm Credit Services in Stevens Point. She also taught business at Amherst high School from 1943 to 1945. She was town clerk for the town of New Hope from 1974 to 1978 and a leader for the Nelsonville Zippy Zees 4-H Club for many years.
