A. D. ANDREWS, beloved resident of Canadian for the past seven years, died at his home here on January 31, 1951, following a heart attack.
Mr. ANDREWS had been ill for about a month and his condition had worsened during the past few days.
Arthur Daniel ANDREWS was born near Batesville, Arkansas, in Independence county, on April 29, 1882. He was married to Miss India ANDREWS (her maiden name was ANDREWS) at Tulsa, Oklahoma, on October 11, 1916.
The deceased was preceded in death by three children, all of whom died in infancy. He was converted to the Christian way of life in 1920 and remained a faithful member of the Missionary Baptist church. He spent the greater part of his life in farming near Fayetteville, Arkansas.
Besides his wife, Mr. ANDREWS is survived by the following relatives: eight children, Arlie, Robert, Fred, Charlie and Kenneth ANDREWS and Mrs. Harold CHAFFIN, all of Canadian, and Mrs. H. G. RIGSBY of Hanford, California, and Eulin ANDREWS of Cullman, Arkansas; and five grandchildren, Jimmy, Don and Carol Jean CHAFFIN and Sandra and Judy RIGSBY.
Funeral services were held on Sunday afternoon in the Assembly of God church, with the pastor, the Rev. W. V. Bentley, officiating.
Pallbearers will be following: Frank COLE, Floyd PYEATT, Marion SMITH, Wiley HILL, Milton STEEN, Marion THOMAS, Starky WHITEHORN and James PORTER.
Burial was made in the Canadian Cemetery.
