Mrs. Mary Jane Ferguson Tapp Kuykendall, 79, died in a Salt Lake hospital Saturday at 4:50 p.m. of natural causes.
She was born Dec. 17, 1973, at South Cottonwood, a daughter of Isaac and Mary Jane Green Ferguson. She was married to John S. Tapp on Dec. 15, 1892, in South Cottonwood. They later were divorced. She was married to Adolphus Kuykendall on Dec. 22, 1927.
Mrs. Kuykendall was a lifelong resident of South Cottonwood and was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Survivors include her husband, South Cottonwood; four sons; John Edgar Tapp, Vernonia, Ore.; Raymond S. Tapp, Union; Earl F. Tapp, Holladay, and Orland L. Tapp, South Cottonwood; two daughters, Mrs. Edna Benfell, Huntington Park, Cal.; Miss Darlene Tapp, South Cottonwood; six brothers, Will and Roy Ferguson, Sandy; George and Stanley Ferguson, Murray; Beldon Ferguson, Tooele; Earl Ferguson, Brigham City; a sister, Mrs. Flossie F. Burkinshaw, Sandy; 25 grandchildren, and 22 great-grandchildren.
