STAMFORD, March 14 - Mrs. Sarah Evelyn Jeter, 85, died Friday at 4 p.m., at the home of her daughter, Mrs. G.C. Barton of Stamford.
She had been in ill health for several years and had been seriously ill the past two weeks. Funeral cortege was to leave at midnight tonight for Hugo. Okla., where services will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday at the Soper Cemetery. The Hugo Methodist minister will officiate. Kinney Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements.
Mrs. Jeter was born June 5, 1861 in the Indian Territory. Her husband died Aug. 8, 1927 near Hugo. She had lived much of the time since with her daughter in Stamford. She spent a year in Norman, Okla. with another daughter, Mrs. J.F. Larecy, returning to Stamford last August. Other survivors include six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
