Passed June 14, 2010. He was born May 20, 1919 in Lumbardi, Mississippi to Hillman Britton and Hattie Rhinney Britton. He is preceded in death by parents; his siblings, Hillman, Great (Nellie Mae), Gertrude, DC, Calvin, Ethel Lee, Ray; and grandson, Antoine Cooper. Robert served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was honorably discharged in 1945. He was an active member of Clark Road Baptist Church under Rev. Pharis Evans. Robert leaves to cherish his memory companion, Robbie; two daughters, Gloria (Jerome) of Kansas City, Missouri, Hattie of Gary, Indiana; two sons, Robert of Panama City, Florida and Michael (Teresa) of Merriville, Indiana; 12 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Visitation Friday, June 18, 2010 from 12noon-8:00 p.m. at the Guy & Allen Chapel, 2959 W. 11th Ave. Funeral Services Saturday, June 19, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at the Clark Road Baptist Church, Rev. Pharis Evans, Pastor.
