Leesport, Jan. 13 (Special). Wellington J. Freeman died of pneumonia, after an illness of four days, at his home here, aged 71 years, 5 months and 17 days. His wife preceded him in death eight years. Deceased was employed as a watchman at the Pennsylvania Railroad crossing at this place for a number of years and lived retired the past five years, being on the pension list of the railroad company. He was a member of the Reformed congregation of Belleman's Church: Castle No. 503, Knights of the Golden Eagle, this place; Independent Order of Americans, this place; Ontelaunee Council, No. 985, Order of Independent Americans, this place; Charity Chamber, No. 23, Knights of Friendship, Reading, and the Pennsylvania Railroad Relief Association. There survive these children: Mrs. Charles Hoffman, Reading; Mrs. David Stepp, Mt. Carbon; Mrs. Albert Offenhouser, Camden, N.J.; Mrs. Irving Kissinger, Reading; Frank and Luther, Reading; Clara, at home; 19 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren; these brothers and sisters: John, Bernville; Charles, Wyomissing; Mrs. Cornelius Swoyer, Shoemakersville; Mrs. Annetta Bear, Tamaqua; Mrs. Emma Painter, Hamburg; Mrs. Charles Long, Wyomissing; Mrs. William Seaman, West Leesport.

Funeral Monday, Jan. 18, at 9:30 a.m. from his late residence. Further services at Belleman's Church, Rev. M.L. Herbein officiating. Interment in the adjoining cemetery in charge of Undertaker J.D. Naftzinger, of Centerport.
