WALTON, Alta M. - Of Burton, age 87, died Saturday, November 25, 1995 at Flint Osteopathic Hospital. Funeral service will be held at 1 PM Wednesday, November 29, 1995 at the Atherton United Methodist Church, 4010 Lippincott Boulevard, Burton, Pastor Bruce L. Billings officiating. Burial in Sunset Hills Cemetery. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Atherton United Methodist Church. Visitation 6-9 PM Monday and 2-4 and 6-9 Tuesday at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road. Mrs. Walton will be at the church from 12 Noon until the time of service on Wednesday. She was born in Onaway, Michigan on October 25, 1908 and was a resident of the Burton and Flint area for most of her life. She was a member of the Atherton United Methodist church since 1959 and was an avid supporter of the Old News Boys. Surviving are her son, James L. and wife JoAnn of Burton; 3 daughters, Jacqueline M. Guelde of Grand Blanc, Dolores I. and husband Don Griffin of Ortonville and Dorothy Kita of Burton; 8 grandchildren, special grandchildren, 5 Kita children; 11 great grandchildren, brother, Norman and wife Esther Bennett of Monterey, California, sister, Betty Slocum of Traverse City; 2 sisters-in-law, Maude Bennett of Flint and Dorothy Walton of Burton; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lester V. Walton, on February 18, 1978.
