Mrs. Melrose B. Cowart, 52, died Sunday at Tattnall County Hospital after a long illness.
She was a native of Fort Pierce, Fla., and had been a hotel operator. She was a member of Collins Baptist Church.
Surviving are her husband, Carl Cowart of Reidsville; and two sisters, Mrs. Mary Woodruff of Reidsville and Mrs. Caroline Strickland of Woodville, Fla.
Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Tuesday at McCall-Trapnell Funeral Home in Reidsville with burial in the Reidsville City Cemetery.
