Funeral services will be held Monday afternoon at 3 o'clock at the Presbyterian church for George A. Knott who died at the Lutheran Hospital Wednesday. Rev. L.P. Warford will officiate. The Ibertson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Mr. Knott was born April 2, 1857 near Jordan, Minn. and was married to Miss Lilly Oaks. Jan 12, 1881. She died in 1909 in Bemidji. The Knott family lived in St. James for many years and while there were members of the Methodist church. They moved to Bemidji in 1901 and to Port Hope township in 1911. He was an employee of the Great Northern Railway for 14 years. He made his home for several years with his daughter. Mrs. G. O. Dodge at Port Hope township and son. Lloyd Knott at Turtle River. For the past seven years he has lived with the Dodge family at 700 Bemidji Ave. He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Rose Steppe of Klamath Falls, Ore and Mrs Dodge of Bemidji, fout sons, Guy of Seattle, Stanley of Newport, Wash. Floyd of Downers Grove, Ill and Lloyd of Bemidji. Mr. Knott suffered a cerebral hemorrhage in 1942 and has been in poor health since that time. Bemidji Daily News, 12 February, 1949 p. 4
