Amelia "Emma" Anderson died September 17, 2010, following a lengthy illness. She was born August 7, 1917, in Mt. Carmel, Pennsylvania, the daughter of Stephen & Johanna Darab Mihalik. She is survived by a sister Alberta Mihalik Boyle and predeceased by three brothers (Stephen, John & Elmer) and five sisters (Mary, Clara, Katherine, Martha & Anna). A 1936 graduate of Mt. Carmel High School, she married Paul A. Anderson of Shamokin, Pennsylvania, November 28, 1941.

Following the Second World War, she resided in Berwick, Pennsylvania, from 1946 to 1954. A resident of New Holland, Pennsylvania, from 1954 to 1994, she was an active member of Our Lady of Lourdes Parish. Employed by New Holland Lingerie for over 30 years as a floor manager, she eventually retired from Brubaker's Sewing Center just before moving to The Meadows in Danville in 1994. An active seamstress all of her adult life, while she lived at The Meadows she worked at making everything from stuffed toys for the craft store and curtains for the chapel to repairs of clothing for others needing the service.

She is survived by her son, Paul Andriscin, and daughter-in-law, Denise Carboneau Andriscin, of Rutland, Vermont, and two grandchildren, Kristin A. and (husband) Kevin Margolin of Rutland, Vermont, and Matthew Andriscin and (wife) Vanessa of Kittery, Maine. Donations to The Arthritis Foundation in lieu of flowers will be most appreciated.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, September 21, 2010 at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church in Danville, with Father Stephen Fauser serving as the officiant. Burial will follow at All Saints Cemetery, Elysburg, PA. Visitation will be from six until eight p.m. on Monday, September 20 at the Brady Funeral Home, 320 Church St., Danville.
