Mr Barret was born Nov 24, 1877 at Webster to Orvill & Esther Ewing Barret. He was married to Florence Parrack on Aug 12, 1900. She died in 1961. He resided in OK & MO before coming to Macomb in 1916.
He was a former painter & paper hanger & had also worked for the CB&Q rail road. He was a member of the Missionary Baptist Church.
Surviving are three children, Charles R Barrett of Port Huron, MI; Mrs Irene Millington of Cherokee Village, Ark; and Mrs Talitha Riser of Colchester.
Preceeding him in death were one daughter, Mrs Lillie Fountain; two brothers, Fred & William Barrett; five sisters, Mrs Mary Sly, Mrs Ollie Hasten, Mrs Lelia McCord, Mrs Blanch Hastings, & Mrs Daisy Hasting.
