William Barrett, 68, a retired McDonough county farmer, born Feb 13, 1893 at Burnside. A son of Orville & Esther Ewing Barrett, Mr Barrett moved to the Macomb area in 1930. A veteran of WWI, he was a member of the American Legion and the Macomb VFW Post.
On May 8, 1926 he married Elizabeth Shoup, who survives with five daughters, Mrs Norma Lange of Burlington IA; Mrs Katherine Burton of Emeryville, CA; Mrs Alma Armstrong of Ft Madison, IA; Mrs William Fugate of Durham, MO; and Mrs Jean Fitch of Bossier City, LA; a son, Raymond of Macomb; three brothers, Walter & Irvin of Macomb; and Vernon of WA; and a sister, Mrs Nellie Whitmore of Riverside, CA.
