Mary Vernon Mowry
(March 19, 1916 - December 4, 2013)
Mary Vernon Mowry, 97, died Wednesday, December 4, 2013 at Shenandoah Nursing Home, Fishersville.
She was born March 19, 1916 in New Hope, Virginia daughter of the late Alexander Robertson and Mary Jarman Fretwell Mowry.
She was a longtime member of New Hope United Methodist Church, but in recent years attended Forest Chapel Church of the Brethren. Mary had retired from Wilson Trucking after 37 years of service. She was a member of the High Noon Club and the Crimora Ruritan Club.
She was also preceded in death by her son, Charles Edwin Mowry.
A service will be conducted at 3:00 P.M. Sunday, December 8, 2013, at McDow Funeral Home by Pastor George Yocum. Interment will at 11:00 A.M. Monday at the New Hope UMC cemetery conducted by Pastor R. Douglas Gunsalas.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home for one hour prior to the service.
The family extends its thanks for the care given her by the staff of Shenandoah Nursing Home.
