Mrs. Margaret Ellen Carpenter, a native of Ireland and a resident of Oroville for thirty-four years, died at the county seat last Saturday. The deceased is survived by three sons, Ralph Carpenter of Oroville, Fred Carpenter of San Diego, Joseph Carpenter of Nevada, and a daughter, Miss Margaret Carpenter of New York. Interment was made in Chico. She was 77 years of age. A native of Ireland, Mrs. Carpenter came to California when but 17 years of age. She had made her home in Oroville for 34 years when death came.
"She leaves the following children to survive her: Ralph Carpenter of Oroville, Fred Carpenter of San Diego, Joseph Carpenter of Nevada, and Miss Margaret Carpenter of New York, and two grandchildren, Ralph and Genevieve Carpenter of Oroville.
