LOGGING INJURIES FATAL TO ELKTON MAN
William Arthur Clemo, 49, died at the Sacred Heart hospital Wednesday morning from injuries received while logging Thursday near Elkton. He was born in Elkhorn, Mont., April 22, 1893 and had been a resident of this state for 40 years, living near Elkton for the past thirty years.
Clemo was well known in the lower river country where he served as deputy assessor for a number of years. He was married to Fannie M. Hendered (should be: Henderer) at Roseburg on August 1, 1915. He was a member of the Methodist church.
Besides his wife, Clemo is survived by three daughters, and five sons, B. Eilun, F. Lenore, Kathleen, Frederick A., Armin N., Arlyn LaV., Charles N. and Lyle L. Clemo, all of Elkton. He also leaves three sisters and three brothers, Miss L. May Clemo, and Mrs. Belle Grove, Seattle; Mrs. Evelyn Butts, Albany; Frederick J. Clemo, Portland, Earl C. Clemo, Albany, and Leslie R. Clemo, Seattle.
Services were held in the Methodist church, Elkton, Thursday at 2 p.m., Rev. Charles A. Edwards, Roseburg, officiating. Interment was made in the family plot on the Hendered (Henderer) estate, arrangements made by Stearns Mortuary, Oakland.
