OBITUARY.

Jefferson Wilson was born in Indiana, July 14th, 1827, died in Henry county, Iowa October 31st, 1898, aged 71 years, 3 months, 17 days. He moved to Iowa in 1839; was united in marriage to Lucinda Rose April 1st, 1849. Eight children were born to them, two of whom preceded him to the grave. His wife, six children, with two brothers and three sisters remain to mourn the sad loss. He had been a member of the Methodist Episcopal church 43 years. He was a good citizen, loved and respected by many who knew him. He served his country as a soldier in the late civil war. Has answered the last roll call on earth and we trust now answers the roll call up yonder in the midst of the redeemed hosts, who join in the chorus of praise around the throne eternal.

On the 2nd of November at 11:30 a.m. appropriate funeral services were conducted by the pastor in the Pleasant Hill church, a large congregation of sympathizing friends and neighbors being present. Here he had met with the people of God for nearly forty years. In the cemetery near by his remains rest till the resurrection call.
