Per Altoona Mirror, Aug. 18, 1969: Fifty years ago, Aug. 18, 1919, Mildred Alice Holton, 16, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Cloyd Holton of 712 2nd St., Juniata, drowned at 10 a.m. yesterday while wading in the Juniata River, one mile west of McVeytown.
