In 1920 she and her parents and five brothers and sisters lived on a farm on Slate Lick Road, south of Worthington. They owned their home, mortgage free.

In 1930 she and her husband and their son Warren lived in Butler, PA. They were paying $15 a month in rent. Herschel was a bus driver for a bus line. They also had a lodger living with them, 19-year-old Margaret S Snyder.
