He was born June 7, 1883 in Augusta County.

A funeral service will be held Tuesday at two p.m. in the chapel of the Etter Funeral Home, conducted by the Rev. George Boyd, assisted by the Rev Glenn S. Sharman. Interment will be in the Middle River Church of the Brethren in New Hope.
The active pallbearers will be George Simpson, Edward Day, E. A, Lyons, Howard Bridge, Guy Cullen and Roy Matheny.
Honorary pallbearers will be Wesley Gum, Stanley Patterson, Wilbur Gum, Clifford Schwab, Albert S. Davis, Carl Collins, Dr. E. Smith, James Matheny, Dewey Powell, and T R. AIlamong.
