James David Pannell, 70, died in his sleep sometime Sunday morning at his home. 453 Arch Ave.
He was night watchman at the Valley Bakery and had worked until three Sunday. Previous to that he had been a cooper at National Fruit Product' Company for 33 years.
He was born June 7, 1883 in Augusta County.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Hattie Rankin Pannell: two sons; Wilmer G Pannell, 108 River Rd., Waynesboro and Clyde T. Pannell, Petersburg; also four grandchildren,
A funeral service will be held Tuesday at two p.m. in the chapel of the Etter Funeral Home, conducted by the Rev. George Boyd, assisted by the Rev Glenn S. Sharman. Interment will be in the Middle River Church of the Brethren in New Hope.
The active pallbearers will be George Simpson, Edward Day, E. A, Lyons, Howard Bridge, Guy Cullen and Roy Matheny.
Honorary pallbearers will be Wesley Gum, Stanley Patterson, Wilbur Gum, Clifford Schwab, Albert S. Davis, Carl Collins, Dr. E. Smith, James Matheny, Dewey Powell, and T R. AIlamong.
