Lollie Hensley, age 89, of Bee Log, went home to be with the Lord and her family on Tuesday, September 7th, 2010 at her home. A native of Yancey County, she was a daughter of the late Mack and Sally Phillips Hensley. She was also preceded in death by three sisters: Oxa Edwards, Ersa Hensley and Alice Watts; five brothers: Clinton, Grant, Ed, Happy and Harue Hensley. Lollie was a member of Bee Log Baptist Church, where she taught the Adult Women's Sunday School Class for many years. She was known for her arts and crafts she loved to make.
Surviving are twenty-two beloved nieces and nephews; special friend, Darlene Griffith and a special niece and caregiver, Tracy Robbins.
Funeral Services will be held at 7 p. m. on Thursday, September 9th in the chapel of Yancey Funeral Services. Rev. Billy Mitchell and Rev. Paul Robinson will officiate. The family will receive friends from 6 until 7 p. m. on Thursday prior to the funeral services. Graveside Services will be held at 11 a. m. on Friday in the Watts Cemetery on Lotties Creek.
