Mayes Eugene Rogers was the son of Henry Burton Rogers and Mollie Carlton Steeley (both buried in Elm).

He married Ella Mae Barnett, October 1957 in Tahlequah, Cherokee Co. OK.

Mayes Eugene Rogers, 62, Watts, died April 22, 1987 at Siloam Springs Memorial Hospital.
Mr. Rogers was born Aug. 5, 1924 in Leach and was the son of Henry and Mollie Rogers.
He was a veteran of WW II, serving in the U. S. Marine Corps.
Survivors include his wife, Ella May, of the home; one son Mayes Eugene Rogers of the home; two daughters, Rita Morrison of Oaks and Romona Lamb of Winslow, AR; two brothers, Owen Rogers of Colcord, OK and Howard Rogers of Twin Oaks, OK; one sister, Waltzie Bryant of Jay, OK. Graveside services were held April 25, 1987 under the direction of Pyeatte Funeral Home of Siloam Springs, AR with Rev. Gary Riley officiating. [Courtesy of Glenita Randolph Guthrie]
