Henry Burton Rogers: Services for Henry B. Rogers, 77 yrs. old of Leach, who died Friday Night in Jay Memorial Hospital were held Sun. afternoon, Nov 7, a 2 p.m. in Elm Cemetery under direction of Lawson Funeral Home. Born Nov 25, 1887 at Westville, OK, He moved to DE Co., as a child.
He was a former deputy sheriff and a justice of the peace at Leach. He married Mollie Steely in 1910; he married Lizzie Littledave on Jul 16, 1965. He was a member of the Baptist Church.
Survivors in addition to his widow, include a daughter, Waltzie Rogers Bryant of Jay; 4 sons: Owen and Howard Rogers both of Leach, Mayes Rogers of Siloam Springs; and Blue Rogers of Huntsville, AR; 2 brothers: John and Lee Rogers both of Leach; 2 sisters: Nan Welch of Southwest City; and Juanita Southards of Moab Utah; 13 grandchildren and a great-grandchild. He is listed on the 1890 CN Census: Going Snake, 1194; Dawes Roll: card# 2428, roll# 23348, 1/32 Cherokee.
