CHARLES FROST HURD (17 Apr 1853 - 3 Dec 1929)

The death of Charles Frost HURD, well known retired business man of Medina, occurred at his Pearl Street home Tuesday afternoon, Dec. 3rd, following a serious illness of several weeks. Mr. HURD was 76 years of age.
For fifty years Mr. HURD conducted a jewelry store in Medina and retired from business with the selling of his store a few years ago. During his lifetime Mr. HURD has been active in the affairs of the community and has taken a keen interest in athletic activities. He was a communicant of St. John's Episcopal Church, a member of the Alert and Automobile Clubs, Medina Lodge F. & A. M. and Medina Chapter R. A. M., and a director of the Central Bank.
Surviving him are his wife, Kate BROWNELL HURD, two sons, F. Brownell of Medina and Charles F. HURD of New York City, two brothers, Dr. S. Wright HURD of Lockport and Jay S. HURD of Corry, Pa.
Funeral services will be held from his late home on Thursday afternoon at three o'clock, Rev. David A. Pearson will officiate and the Masonic service will be given by Medina Lodge F. & A.M. Burial will be at Boxwood Cemetery.
