William, son of Hiram and Mary Brewer Axtell, was born at Walnut, Ill., July 19, 1863, and departed
this life at Billings, Montana, on Nov. 4, 1941, aged 78 years, 3 months, and 16 days.

When a small boy the family moved to Mt. Ayr, Iowa, where he grew to manhood, later coming
to Nebraska and settling near Carleton. Here he lived until the spring of 1938 after which he
moved to Billings, Mont., where he has since made his home with his son, Roy.

In 1885 he was united in holy wedlock to Cora Mae Beavers.

Three children blessed this union.

His loving wife and one son preceded him in death.

He leaves to mourn his passing two sons, LeRoy, of Billings, Mont., and Archie, of Los Angeles, Cal.;
eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, besides a host of other relatives and friends.

At an early age he united with the Brethren Church at Carleton at which church he has always
maintained his membership.

No, not cold beneath the grasses,
Not close walled within the tomb,
Rather within my Father's mansion
Living within another room.
Shall we doubt our Father's mercy,
Shall we speak of death as doom,
Or the stepping o'er the the threshold
To a bigger, brighter room.

CARD OF THANKS
We wish to take this opportunity to offer our thanks
to old neighbors and friends for their sympathy and
kindness at the death of our father. Also for the
flowers and those who sang for the services.
