Allen Ring of Sidney, Nebraska was born April 22, 1922 in Hays County, Nebraska to Fred J. and Bessie Belle Carter Ring. He died early Saturday morning, January 21, 1995 at the Sidney Nursing Center in Sidney at the age of 72.

Ring served in the U.S. Army during World War II until his discharge in 1945. He then lived in Haxtun where he worked as a mechanic.

On September 15, 1946 he was united in marriage to Darlene Buss at Haxtun. They moved to Laramie, Wyoming in 1960 where Ring continued to work as a mechanic. He later got into the restaurant business.

In 1979 he retired from the restaurant business and in 1980 moved to Wheatland, Wyoming. In 1982 they moved to Fort Collins due to Darlene's health. She preceded him in death in 1987.

After his wife's death, he moved to Holyoke where he met Rita Warren. On December 10, 1987 the were married in Sterling. They moved to Dalton, Nebraska where they lived until moving to Sidney recently.

Allen was a member of the Dalton Lion's Club and the Sidney Elk's Lodge #1894.

Survivors include wife Rita of Sidney; sons Ron Ring of Loveland and Kirby Ring of Cary, North Carolina; daughter Debra Bean of Berthoud; sisters Frances Lyons of Lincoln, Nebraska and Ardyth Exby of Montrose; seven grandchildren; one great grandchild; stepchildren Sheryl Folot and Kyle Warren of Fort Collins and Curt Warren of Fremont, Nebraska; eight step-grandchildren; and one step great grandchild.

Memorial services were Tuesday, January 24, 1995 in Trinity Lutheran Church in Dalton, Nebraska with Pastor Ruth Boettcher officiating. Interment will be at a later date in Haxtun Cemetery.
