Charles J. Vaughan, Former Miner, Dies at 74

Charles J. Vaughan, 74 years old, 1401 Illinois Avenue, died at 8:20 o'clock Sunday night at his home. He had been ill six months.

Mr. Vaughan born in Baxter Springs, came to Joplin in 1912 from Galena. He had one time been engaged in mining operations.

Survivors are the widow, Mrs. Alice Vaughan of the home; a son, Clarence E. Vaughan of Bethel, Kan.; a stepson, Robert Yeager of Olney, Ill; a brother, Raymond Vaughan of Fort Worth, Tex., two sisters, Mrs. Dollie Brasington and Mrs. Edith Myers, both of Fort Worth; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:30 o'clock this afternoon at the Thornbill-dallon Chapel. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.
