Larry Brice Zimmerman, 88, of Iris Drive, Waynesboro, entered into his eternal rest on Friday, September 2, 2016 at Augusta Health surrounded by his loving family. Born May 30,1928 in Waynesboro to the late Loomis and Vinnie (Terrell) Zimmerman.
Larry was a member of Shenandoah Heights Baptist Church and was a former member of West Waynesboro Church of Christ. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend to many. Larry retired after 44 years of service from Klann Organ, a family and a business that he truly loved and respected, with family ties and friendships which continue today.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Katie Via Zimmerman, three brothers and four sisters.
Survivors include his second wife, Mildred Christian; sister, Lottie Young; six sons, Jim and wife, Janet of Kents Store, Ron and wife, Pauline of Woodlawn, Charlie and wife, Sherry of Holden Beach, NC, Frank and wife, Jane of Fishersville, Acey and wife, Barbara of Waynesboro, Wayne and fiance', Judy Hinton of Fairfax. He is also survived by twelve grandchildren, nineteen great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.
A celebration of life service will be held at 6:00 P.M., Tuesday, September 6, 2016 at West Waynesboro Church of Christ, 2212 Cortland Street, Waynesboro with Phil Forehand officiating. Family visitation will follow the service. A private family burial will follow at a later date. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Waynesboro Chapel of Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes.
