Charles Stokes was the youngest son of Barbour Cooper Stokes Sr. and Willie Gertrude Stokes. He was a camera man for a local television station from the 60's into the 1980's. He was involved in a helicopter crash in the 1970's while occurred while taking off to cover a news story with veteran anchorman Jerry Dunphy. Jerry Dunphy was a staple in the LA area TV news. Both men survived the crash. Charles received a broken arm. He was an Air Force veteran who spent his last years in Barstow, California in a facility for veterans.
