Funeral held Monday At Lengby For Wm. Stave, Life-Long Resident
Funeral services were held Monday at the St. Paul Lutheran church in Lengby for William "Bill" Stave, long-time businessman in Lengby, who passed away June 14.
The Rev. G. F. Guldberg officiated and Pederson Funeral home of Fosston was in charge of arrangements.
William Stave
William (Bill) Stave passed away at Clearwater Memorial hospital at Bagley, Minn. on June 14 after a brief illness.
Mr. Stave was born Sept. 28, 1900 on a farm in Columbia township, just east of Lengby, Minn. He was baptized and confirmed at St. Paul's Lutheran church in Lengby. He moved to Lengby with his family at the age of 16 years, where he spent most of his life. He operated a grocery store for a number of years, spent time in Alaska, and was a local carpenter up until is death.
He served on the village council, and was active in other civic affairs.
He was united in marriage to Eva Hilliard on November 28, 1921. To this union seven children were born. An infant daughter preceded him in death.
In addition to his wife, Eva, he is survived by six children. They are: James of Lengby, Darrell of Brainerd, Mrs. Richard Danks (Ardelle) of Lengby, Mrs. Peter Abeldgaard (Marilyn), Mrs. James Boisjolie (Marion), and Mrs. Richard Helmberger (Patricia) all of Minneapolis. He leaves eleven grandchildren. All of his brothers and sisters preceded him in death.
