John Biery was born on what is now the State Fishery Farm in Emaus, Lehigh Co., PA, but later removed to Mariasville, Venango Co., where he purchased a farm of his own and followed that occupation without interruption, during the remainder of his life. His death finally occurred there in the year 1897. He married, Nov. 19, 1840, Esther Shaner.
