JESSIE MAE "TEEDIE" BETTS--90: died Sunday [6-09] at River Hills Village-Keokuk IA. She was born 23 Mar 1923 in Keokuk, a dau of CharlesW & JessieV Henson Betts. Jessie was a member of the First Christian Church-Keokuk. She loved children & they loved her. Jessie was known as the best babysitter in the area. In her younger years she enjoyed playing soft-ball. Jessie was an avid Chicago Cubs fan & rarely missed watching a game.
She is survived by 2 sisters: Alice [Bill] Peel-Keokuk & Jody Hendricks-Keokuk, several nieces & nephews including a special niece: Midge Rader of Keokuk.
She was preceded in death by her parents; 1 sister & 5 brothers of which 2 were in infancy.
Services were held Wednesday morning [6-12] at the Vigen Memorial Home-Keokuk IA with Rev David Turner officiating. Burial was in the Oakland Cemetery in Keokuk.
Memorials may be made to St Jude Children's Hospital or River Hills Activity Department.
