LOUIS E BETTS-74:
Keokuk; died Tuesday [2-21] in a Keokuk Area Hosp. He was born 27 Mar 1914 in Keokuk, son of Charles & Jessie Henson Betts. He married Wilma Danford on 30 Aug 1936 in Keokuk. He was a lifelong resident of Keokuk & was employed by the City of Keo-kuk as park & cemetery superintendent for 20 years before his retirement in 1977. He was a member of First Christian Church serving as an elder & deacon. He was also a member of Elks Lodge-106-Keokuk. He was an avid bowler & golfer & was very active in all sports during his younger years.
Survivors include his wife of Keokuk; 2 sons: Louis 'Bud' BettsJr & Jack Betts-both Keokuk; bro: Arthur-Glendale AZ; sis: Alice (sp-Wm) Peel, Jessie Betts & Jodie (sp-Ken) Hendricks-all Keokuk; 7 grandchildren & 2 gr grandchild-ren. Arrangements by Schmidt Vigen Memorial Home.
Services will be held Friday [2-24] at the First Christian Church with Rev Bill Mitchell officia-ting. Burial will be in Oakland Cem.
