Georgia Dean Shreve, age 84, of Iberia, passed away Friday, May 8, 2009, at her home. She was born in Iberia on January 18, 1925, daughter of Will and Beulah (Hicks) Jarrett. On January 12, 1946, in Iberia, Georgia married Glen Victor Shreve, who preceded her in death on March 2, 1976.

Georgia loved sewing and gardening and cherished her grandchildren. She was a member of Iberia Church of the Nazarene.

She is survived by two sons, Glenvel Shreve and wife Linda of Iberia and Ronnie Shreve and wife Susette of Waynesville; four daughters, Karen Jenkins of Eldon, Linda Cameron and husband Jim of Eldon, Mary Boone and husband John of Rocky Mount, and Betty Hopper and husband Harold of Barnett; fourteen grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren; and one sister, Bonnie Hendley of Horn Lake, Mississippi.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; two brothers; and two sisters.

Services will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Monday, May 11, 2009, at Fancher-Rekus Funeral Home in Iberia. Rev. Greg McClain and Rev. Dennis Nichols will officiate. Interment will be in Jarrett Cemetery near Iberia. Visitation will be from 4-8 P.M. on Sunday, May 10, at the funeral home. Memorial contributions are suggested to Jarrett Cemetery.
